Approach

I was commissioned to create a fun T-shirt design for Tate Anzur's company walking club.

 

As the walks often brought participants through the lush greenery of Singapore's parks, trees and shrubs served as the main inspiration for the design. Singaporean flora and fauna, like the coastal palm and oriental pied hornbill were respectively, were added to make the design relevant.

 

The wordmark, a wordplay on 'walkie-talkie', was subsequently coined by me. Though these walks were but just informal events (participation was purely voluntary), participants often had a good time chatting with colleagues from departments other than their own, fostering cameraderie.

考え方

「Tate Anzur」社のウォーキングクラブのために、楽しいTシャツデザインを依頼されました。

 

ウォーキングイベントでは、参加者がシンガポールの公園を歩くことが多く、その青々とした自然、木々や低木がデザインの主なインスピレーションとなりました。デザインには、コースタルパームやオリエンタル・パイド・ホーンビルなど、シンガポールの動植物も取り入れ、地域性を持たせました。

「トーキー・ウォーキーズ」というワードマークは、私が「ウォーキートーキー（無線機）」をもじって考案したものです。これらのウォーキングはあくまで非公式なイベントで、参加は完全に自由でしたが、普段交流の少ない部署の同僚同士で会話が弾み、仲間意識が育まれる良い機会となっていました。
