Branding exercise

The Brief

Isabella grew up surrounded by wildflowers in the Swiss Alps and founded Wild & Organic. Her brand focuses on creating organic, wildflower-infused skin care products. Isabella’s vision is to share the healing properties of alpine botanicals with skincare enthusiasts around the world.

My Approach

While the minimalist approach has lately been all the rage when it comes to skincare brand design, I designed to experiment a little with using colour gradients to add an edge to the overall look and feel. I picked colours that were reminiscent of nature – shades of green, yellow and purple. From dark to light, they also mimic a scene from a sunny wildflower meadow, a gentle transition in brightness as the flowers extend towards the sky to meet the rays of the sun.  

 

For the text in the brand's primary logo, I added a slight distortion to the alphabets in order to mimic the sway of flowers and leaves in the breeze. I also honed in on the ampersand to be used as the brand's key visual identifier. The curved lines reminded me of two-part leaves, which was the perfect symbol to represent brand's focus of creating organic products using natural ingredients.
